Resistance Band Exercises

Resistance bands are one of the best tools you can use for getting in shape. They're inexpensive, light, highly versatile, and you can take them with you anywhere you go. I personally take my resistance band with me anytime I travel. That way, I can just whip it out and crank out a great 20-minute workout with many of the resitance band exercises you just saw in the video.

The other great element that a resistance band can bring to your workout routine is known as accommodating resistance. This is a type of training whereby the resistance becomes more challenging as the muscle length-tension relationship improves.

To better understand this concept, let's look at the biceps curl. Normally, the top part of the curl (when the weight is closest to your shoulder) is mechanically the easiest for your biceps muscles. However, if you do a biceps curl with a resistance band, the tension continues to increases as you go through the motion since the band is being stretched.

Make sense?

This type of training has been shown to lead to tremendous strength and fat loss improvements.

So here's what I do. I'll grab some dumbbells to execute typical exercises like biceps curls, lateral raises, squat presses, and so forth, and I'll add the resistance band to these exercises. Believe me - it's hardcore because now you've got the weight from the dumbbells and the added tension from the resistance band.
