Well, as I talk about in this video, the key is to change the way you think about weight loss and losing love handles, more specifically. Most people think that doing 1000s of ab exercises will help burn belly fat and get rid of their love handles.
The reality though, is that you need to be doing exercises and workouts that engage more muscle.
It's simple! The more muscle you use, the more calories you burn. I'm sure you've noticed that doing full body exercises like squat presses are slightly more exhausting than sit-ups, right? You'll most likely have noticed that your breathing becomes a lot deeper and you quickly become out of breath. This doesn't happen with small movements like sit-ups.
Why is that important?
The more muscle you use, the more oxygen is required to fuel those muscles. Here's where it all comes together. For every liter of oxygen that you consume, you burn roughly 5 calories!
Thus, simply using workouts that make you "huff and puff" through full body strength training exercises will help you burn way more calories than you might be used to. In turn, this is what is going to help you get of those love handles in the long run. Not sit-ups!
The more muscle you have, the greater your metabolic rate, and the more calories you burn (even at rest).
Hey, but let's not kid ourselves either. Let's not forget that perhaps the most important element to losing those love handles is adherence to a clean diet that is void of cooked/rancid fats, excessive animal products, and refined sugars!
