Yes, you can get fit at home! You don't need an expensive gym membership or fancy equipment. With little more than your bodyweight and a few portable exercise tools, you can get fit at home and sculpt an incredibly toned body!
So what are some "at home" alternatives to traditional gym workouts?
Here are some of my favorite types of alternative exercises:
Jumping rope - great way to tone your arms and legs while getting a fantastic cardiovascular training effect. Try speed jumping, crosses, double jumps once you get skilled at it.
Bodyweight training - bodyweight squats, pushups, lunges, jumps, bear crawls, mountain climbers and jumpers, planks, and the list goes on and on. You'd be surprised at just how fit you can get by using nothing more than your bodyweight!
Try this workout on for size:
Kettlebell training - nothing will get your heart pounding like high repetition KB swings and snatches or clean & presses. If you don't have a kettlebell, then these workouts can be done with dumbbells too.

Outdoor sprinting - ok this isn't really an in home workout but all you have to do is step outside your front door, so it's pretty close! Sprinting is a great way to improve your cardiovascular fitness as well as creating a chiseled lean body! Just look at the chiseled powerful bodies of world class sprinters, and compare that to the weakling withered physique of a typical marathoner.
Hill sprinting - yet another classic for a rock hard powerful body. Hill running is one of the best ways to strengthen you legs and your heart!
Heavy bag punching / kicking workout, speed bag, rebound bag... all great forms of training and much more interesting than boring cardio machines. I discovered this first hand when my good friend Sam insisted I do a boxing workout with him. WOW, was it ever intense!
