Full Body Workout for Weight Loss

Full body workouts are simply workouts that incorporate your entire body. They focus on exercises that train movements, not single muscles. However, in so doing, they train several different muscle groups. Many people refer to full body workouts as functional training.

In my opinion, a full body workout is much more effective for eliciting strength, power, and weight loss results. I'm sure you'll see why after giving the workout (in the video above) a shot.

The other benefit of a full body workout is that you actually train your body to perform better in all facets of your life. Whether you're walking up stairs, lifting boxes, bending down, or competing in sports, these workouts will be far more useful for you because (again) they train movements that mimic the natural way the human body moves.

So, if you want to get in shape and are sick and tired of the same old boring weight lifting or cardio routines, then you've got to give this workout a shot. Not only will find it challenging for your muscular strength but you will also notice that it elicits a rapid rise your heart rate, meaning that you get a terrific cardiovascular training effect. Who said you needed to do cardio to get an aerobic training effect anyways?

This workout should only take you about 25 minutes to complete. Try doing 2-3 sets of each superset and repeat this workout up to 3 times per week.

Here are the exercises from the workout:

Warm-up: 5-10 minute light cardio + dynamic stretching


Twisting Squat with Diagonal Press x 8 reps (each side)

Dumbbell Push Up - Pull x 8 reps (each side)


Squat Presses (from hacksquat) x 8 reps

Full Dumbbell Sit-Up (or Turkish Get up) x 8 reps (each side)
